Grand Teton National Park is located in northwestern Wyoming and includes the major peaks of the Grand Teton mountain range. The tallest peak is the 13775-foot Grand Teton, which towers above Jackson Hole. The park is 10 miles south of Yellowstone National Park and is part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

The park offers a wealth of hiking trails which range in difficulty due to the varied terrain. Family-friendly hikes include the Heron Pond & Swan Lake Trail, Jenny Lake Loop, Lake Creek-Woodland Trail Loop, Lakeshore Trail, Leigh Lake Trail, Polecat Creek Loop Trail, Taggart Lake Trail and String Lake Trail.

Camping is another popular family activity within Grand Teton and there are over 1000 drive-in campsites available to stay at. Properly licensed and leashed pets are permitted in the campgrounds and on roads that automobiles are allowed on. Pets are not permitted on trails or in the backcountry.

Grand Teton provides habitat for a wealth of wildlife. Over 300 species of birds and dozens of mammal species can be found within the park. Black Bears and Grizzly Bears are daily common within the park and families should use appropriate caution.
