Cave Lake State Park is located in White Pine County, Nevada adjacent to Humboldt National Forest. The park features a 32-acre reservoir that provides an array of water recreation.
Fishing is permitted on the reservoir 24 hours a day with a proper license. Rainbow trout and brown trout are among the fish that can be caught. Motorized boats are permitted on the reservoir, but may not exceed 5 miles per hour.
There are two campground for families to camp in, the Elk Flat Campground and Lake View Campground. Campsites are level and contain a fire pit, grill, and picnic table. Properly licensed and leashed pets are permitted. There are several picnic areas located on the shore of the lake.
Families can hike the miles of trails within the park. The family-friendly Steptoe Creek Trail is a three mile round trip while the Cave Springs Trail is a moderate five mile hike through the surrounding hills.
