Indian Springs State Park is located in central Georgia between the cities of Atlanta and Macon. The park is named for a series of natural springs which the Creek Indians considered as having healing properties. Several structures were constructed within the park by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), including The Spring House.
There are 17 miles of hiking trails through Indian Springs State Park. Families can camp in one of the 88 campsites or 10 cottages. Properly licensed and leashed pets are permitted in the campsites and two designated cottages.
The 105-acre McIntosh Lake offers water recreation for families, including boating, fishing and swimming. The park offers boat rentals.
