Talladega National Forest is located in the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains in Alabama. The National Forest was established in 1936 on lands that had been very abused and highly eroded due to over logging. Talladega has experienced regrowth and now represents a vibrant pine forest with a diverse ecosystem.
Talladega National Forest provides families with a wide range of hiking. A favorite hike is the short Odum Trail that leads to High Waterfall. Families can enjoy camping in one of the campgrounds and there are campsites near Lake Chinnabee and Coleman Lake.
