Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is located on Lake Michigan. There is varied terrain, including dunes, marshes, woodlands, river and 15 miles of beach.

Dewolf Point State Park is located on Wellesley Island, New York. The park is located near the Canadian border and is on the Lake of the Isles and near the St. Lawrence River.

Lake Dennison Recreation Area is located in Central Massachusetts. The central feature of the park is Lake Dennison, which offers a swimming beach and a boat launch for paddle boats. Fishing is also a popular activity in the lake.

There are plenty of opportunities for family camping. There are 150 campsites with restroom facilities and drinking water. The camping season runs from late May to early September.

The park comprises a group of small mountains and the largest old growth hardwood forest west of the Adirondacks. The park was created in 1945 and is the largest within the Michigan State Park system.
