It was established in 1908 and is the oldest national forest east of the Mississippi River. Rogers Rock Campground & Day Use Area is part of New York's Adirondack Park and is located along the northwestern bank of Lake George. A major feature of the area is Rogers Rock, named after an English colonial fighter named Robert Rogers, who served in the French and Indian War.
