Humboldt Lagoons State Park protects three lagoons on the Pacific Coast in northwest California which are part of the nation's largest lagoon system. Big Lagoon is the largest lagoon and located to the south, Stone Lagoon is located in the middle, and Freshwater Lagoon is the smallest and northernmost lagoon. Dry Lagoon was previously drained by farmers and is now a wetland area.

Hearthstone Point Campground is part of New York's Adirondack Park and is located on the shores of Lake George two miles north of the Village of Lake George.

Camping is the primary activity at Hearthstone Point and families can stay at one of the 251 tent and trailer sites. The campground features flush toilets, hot showers, recycling center and trailer dump station. Properly licensed and leashed pets are permitted.

Rogers Rock Campground & Day Use Area is part of New York's Adirondack Park and is located along the northwestern bank of Lake George. A major feature of the area is Rogers Rock, named after an English colonial fighter named Robert Rogers, who served in the French and Indian War. Rogers climbed the rock to evade Indians who were pursuing him and there are various legends regarding the specifics of his escape.

Bash Bish Falls State Park is located in Southwest Massachusetts and is home to the state's highest single-drop waterfall. The Bash Bish Brook cascades down Bash Bish Mountain before making a 60-foot drop over the falls.

Bash Bish State Park offers day use recreation including fishing and hiking. The trail is accessed via a moderately difficult trail. There is a range of wildlife in the area, including black bear and bobcat.

Camel's Hump State Park protect's the third-largest peak in Vermont and is part of the Green Mountain range. Camel's Hump peak has a distinctive look and is featured on Vermont's state quarter. Its elevation is 4,083, making it one of the 48 peaks in New England reaching higher than 4,000 feet.

Reid State Park is located on Georgetown Island in Sagadahoc County, Maine. The island is located on the Atlantic coast in southern Maine. The was created in 1946 when Walter E. Reid donated the land to the State of Maine and represents Maine's first state-owned saltwater beach.

Reid State Park contains several wide sandy beaches, which are uncommon on the Maine coastline. Families can enjoy swimming and fishing in the waters or a hike on one of the trails. There is a picnic area and food service available.

Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park is located in Humboldt County, California and protects old-growth Coast Redwood trees. Many of the redwoods reach over 300 feet high and the third largest Coast Redwood, named Iluvatar, is located in the park's Atlas Grove. The forest within the park is also comprised of Coast Douglas Fir, Sitka Spruce and Western Hemlock. In addition to the redwood forest, the park also contains Gold Bluffs Beach which represents 10 miles of scenic coastline on the Pacific Ocean.

Calaveras Big Trees State Park is located in Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties, California. The park is located in the middle elevations of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and preserves two groves of giant sequoia trees. The sequoia trees can grow to over 325 feet tall and have trunks more than 30 feet in diameter. It is believed some of the trees in the park are over 2000 years old.

The Stanislaus River is another prominent feature of the park which offers fishing for trout.
