Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge is located on the west coast of Florida in Dixie and Levy counties. The refuge protects one of the largest river delta systems in the United States and includes twenty miles of the Suwannee River estuary and twenty miles of coastline on the Gulf of Mexico.

Cape May National Wildlife Refuge is located on the Cape May Peninsula in Southern New Jersey. The refuge is comprised of three units: the Delaware Bay Division, the Great Cedar Swamp Division and the Two Mile Beach Unit.

Fishing Creek Wildlife Preserve is located in Del Haven, New Jersey and is part of the Cape May County park system. The preserve is alternatively known as Cape May County Park South and is the largest county-run park.

Much of the park is marsh and wetlands in the Delaware Bay Estuary. It is a stop along the Atlantic Flyway migratory route and is an excellent place for birding.

Taum Sauk Mountain State Park is located in southeastern Missouri and encompasses the state's highest point, which is 1,772 feet above sea level. Taum Sauk Mountain is part of the Saint Francois Mountains in the Missouri Ozarks and features Mina Sauk Falls, the highest waterfall in Missouri.

Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is located on the eastern coast of Kent County, Delaware. Most of the refuge is comprised of tidal marsh with some upland forest and freshwater. Also within the refuge is the Allee House, a pre-revolutionary war farmhouse that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Gillette Castle State Park is located in the towns of East Haddam and Lyme, Connecticut and overlooks the Connecticut River. The park is located on a former estate named Seven Sisters that was owned by late actor William Gillette. A prominent feature of the park is Gillette's former residence that resembles a castle and was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Big Cypress National Preserve is located in southern Florida. The terrain is somewhat more elevated than the nearby Everglades National Park, but the two are part of the same ecosystem. The park is comprised of cypress forest, mangrove and a range of other flora.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is located in the badlands of western North Dakota. The park is named for the 26th President of the United States who is well regarded as a conservationist. The park has three sections: the Elkhorn Ranch Unit, the North Unit and the South Unit. The Little Missouri River winds through all three units and the Maah Daah Hey Trail connects all three units of the park.
