Mahlon Dickerson Reservation is located in Jefferson Township, New Jersey and is the largest park in the Morris County park system. A major feature of the park is the Headley Overlook, which is one of the highest points in the county park system. Grand Canyon National Park is located in Coconino and Mohave counties, Arizona and protects over 1.2 million acres of the famous Grand Canyon. The canyon is a massive gorge formed by the Colorado River and is considered on of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, 18 miles across at its widest and up to a mile deep.

Grand Canyon National Park was created in 1919 and is the United States 15-oldest national park. Over 4 million people visit the park annually to view the natural wonders of the canyon.

Duke Farms is a Hillsborough, New Jersey estate that was founded by James Buchanan Duke, the founder of Duke Power and the American Tobacco Company. The estate was most recently the home of Duke's daughter, Doris, who inherited the estate when she was 12 years old and it was her main residence until her death in 1992. The estate is now owned by the Duke Farms Foundation.

Calaveras Big Trees State Park is located in Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties, California. The park is located in the middle elevations of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and preserves two groves of giant sequoia trees. The sequoia trees can grow to over 325 feet tall and have trunks more than 30 feet in diameter. It is believed some of the trees in the park are over 2000 years old.

The Stanislaus River is another prominent feature of the park which offers fishing for trout.
