Located just a few minutes from downtown Freeport, Maine, Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park provides a tranquil, natural retreat. The land for the park was a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence M. C. Smith and the park itself opened in 1972. Wolfe's Neck is a wooded peninsula (the "neck") between the Harraseeket River and Casco Bay and is named for original settlers Henry and Rachel Woolfe. The park includes a variety of ecosystems, including white pine and hemlock forests, open fields, salt marsh and rocky coastline.

Malibu Creek State Park is located in the Santa Monica Mountains in Southern California. The land was formerly owned by 20th Century Fox Studios and was used to film a number of movies and television shows, including Love Me Tender, Planet of the Apes, Daniel Boone and M*A*S*H. Prior to being owned by 20th Century Fox, the land was the Crags Country Club which offered wealthy members hunting, fishing, tennis and other recreation. The land was acquired by the state in 1974 to be converted into a park, however filming has continued on the land.
