Lake Murray State Park is Oklahoma's largest state park and is located in the south central portion of the state. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) constructed the park and employed nearly 17,000 men.

Lake Murray provides a wide range of water recreation. Boating is a popular activity and families can rent canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, jet skis, sailboats and ski boats.

Cave Lake State Park is located in White Pine County, Nevada adjacent to Humboldt National Forest. The park features a 32-acre reservoir that provides an array of water recreation.

Fishing is permitted on the reservoir 24 hours a day with a proper license. Rainbow trout and brown trout are among the fish that can be caught. Motorized boats are permitted on the reservoir, but may not exceed 5 miles per hour.

Echo Canyon State Park is a state park in eastern Nevada, located at the head of Dry Valley. The rock outcrops within the park are the result of volcanic activity millions of years ago. The park features the 65 acre Echo Canyon Reservoir and beautiful scenery.

The reservoir provides families with a range of water recreation. A boat launch is located on the north shore of the reservoir. There is great fishing for rainbow trout, largemouth bass and crappie.

Brushy Creek State Recreation Area is located in central Iowa within Webster County and is one of the state's largest public recreation lands. A major feature of the park is the 690 acre lake, which provides boating, fishing and swimming. Smallmouth bass and panfish are among the prized catches for anglers.

Caesar Creek State Park is located in Southwestern Ohio. A central feature of the park is Caesar Creek Lake, which was formed when the Army Corps of Engineers erected a dam on Caesar Creek for flood control.

Caesar Creek Lake provides extensive water recreation. Four boat ramps provide water access and there is an unlimited horsepower designation for power boats. There is great fishing for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and crappie.

Fort Washington State Park is located in Springfield and Whitemarsh Townships, Pennsylvania and is about 17 miles from the city of Philadelphia. The park is named for a temporary fort constructed by General George Washington's troops in the autumn of 1777. While the fort no longer exists at the site, a museum has been established within the park in the historic Clifton House.

Kittatinny Valley State Park is located near Andover, New Jersey and is known for its glacial lakes and limestone outcroppings amongst the Kittatinny Mountains. The area is also known as the Great Valley and outside of the park is largely agricultural land. The park itself has varied terrain, including fields, lakes, swamps and mountains.

Blue Hills Reservation is a Massachusetts State Park located Norfolk County. The park is named for the hills that are made of a bluish rock containing Riebeckite and the area contains a variety of terrain, including hills, forests, meadows and marshes. There are 22 hills in the chain and the largest is Great Blue Hill, whose peak is 635 feet above sea level.

West Essex Park is located in the towns of Livingston, Roseland, West Caldwell and Fairfield, New Jersey. It is part of the Essex County Park System and is within the western portion of the county. The Passaic River is a prominent feature and six miles of the river winds along the western border of the park. Pin Oaks and White Oaks are among the trees that stand tall in the park.

Joseph H. Stewart State Recreation Area is located at Lost Creek Reservoir in southern Oregon. The lake was created by damming the Rogue River. It is surrounded by mountains and conifer trees, making for a very scenic location for family outdoor recreation.

The reservoir provides great water recreation for families. There is a boat launch providing access to the water for power boats and paddle boats. There is also fishing for bass and trout and a fish cleaning station near the boat launch.
