Ocala National Forest is located in central Florida north of Orlando. It is the southernmost national forest in the continental United States and the second largest in Florida. It was established in 1908 and is the oldest national forest east of the Mississippi River. Ocala protects the largest contiguous sand pine forest in the world and has over 600 lakes, rivers and springs.

Located in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, Blue Knob State Park provides a scenic destination within 25 miles of Altoona, Bedford and Johnstown. The park is named for Blue Knob, the second-highest peak within Pennsylvania. The park's elevation is higher than the surrounding area and snowfalls average 12 feet annually.

Hartshorne Woods Park is located in northern Monmouth County, New Jersey in the Bayshore Region. It is bordered by the Navesink River to the south and the Upper Shrewsbury River to the north. The park is divided into three sections known as the Rocky Point Section, the Monmouth Hills Section and The Buttermilk Valley Section. Several old military bunkers are located within the park and there is a beach with fishing pier.

Jekyll Island is a barrier island on Georgia's coast that is located midway between Savannah and Jacksonville, Florida. The island is owned by state of Georgia and operated by the Jekyll Island Authority. Development is limited to 35 percent of the island, preserving most of it as native ecosystem.

Humboldt Lagoons State Park protects three lagoons on the Pacific Coast in northwest California which are part of the nation's largest lagoon system. Big Lagoon is the largest lagoon and located to the south, Stone Lagoon is located in the middle, and Freshwater Lagoon is the smallest and northernmost lagoon. Dry Lagoon was previously drained by farmers and is now a wetland area.

Hearthstone Point Campground is part of New York's Adirondack Park and is located on the shores of Lake George two miles north of the Village of Lake George.

Camping is the primary activity at Hearthstone Point and families can stay at one of the 251 tent and trailer sites. The campground features flush toilets, hot showers, recycling center and trailer dump station. Properly licensed and leashed pets are permitted.

Third Annual WILD Outdoor Expo Sept. 15-16

The NJDEP's third annual NJ Wild Outdoor Expo will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 15-16, 2012 at the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area.

Families can discover new ways to enjoy New Jersey's great outdoors and will have an opportunity to try a broad spectrum of outdoor activities such as hiking, geocaching, fishing, kayaking, rock climbing and camping skills. There will also be demonstrations of sporting and tracking dogs, turkey calling and crafts.

Bash Bish Falls State Park is located in Southwest Massachusetts and is home to the state's highest single-drop waterfall. The Bash Bish Brook cascades down Bash Bish Mountain before making a 60-foot drop over the falls.

Bash Bish State Park offers day use recreation including fishing and hiking. The trail is accessed via a moderately difficult trail. There is a range of wildlife in the area, including black bear and bobcat.
