Custer State Park is the largest and oldest state park in South Dakota. It is located in the Black Hills in the Southwestern portion of the state and is named for Colonel George Custer. The park was founded in 1912 and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) built roads, campgrounds and dams within the park.

Cloudland Canyon State Park is located in Northern Georgia and is one of the largest and most scenic parks within the state. The park contains a deep gorge called the Sitton Gulch which is formed by the Sitton Gulch Creek. The gorge is more than 1000 feet deep and the park's highest elevation is 1980 feet.

Dead Horse Point State Park is located in Utah on a plateau overlooking the Colorado River. The park sits atop 2000-foot cliffs and offers stunning views of the surrounding canyons. The location was once used as a corral and a legend states that when it was abandoned, the horses stayed in the opened corral until their deaths.

Potrero County Park is located in San Diego County, California and is about 45 miles east of the city of San Diego. The park is known for it meadows, rocky hillsides and shady oak trees.

There are trails within the park for family hiking and nature viewing. Among the raptors that can be seen in the park are Cooper's Hawks, Red-Tailed Hawks and Golden Eagles.

Fort Mountain State Park is located in northern Georgia. Within the park is a 17-acre mountain lake and a tower constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). A 855-foot long wall at the top of mountain is believed to have been created by Native Americans.

The lake provides fishing and paddle boating. Canoes and pedal boats can be rented. Families can swim in the lake in season.

White Mountain National Forest is located primarily within the state of New Hampshire and a small portion is located within the state of Maine. The forest is comprised of three discontinuous areas and contains six designated Federal Wilderness Areas. 100 miles of the famous Appalachian Tail pass through the forest.

Three Rivers State Park is located in Northern Florida near the Georgia border. Within the park, the Chattahoochee and Flint rivers meet to form Lake Seminole above Jim Woodruff Dam. Below the dam, the Apalachicola River flows into the Apalachicola Bay.

Sawtooth National Recreation Area is located in central Idaho. Sawtooth is managed by the U.S. Forest service and its lands are within the borders of the Boise, Challis, and Sawtooth National Forests. The Sawtooth Mountains, Boulder Mountains and White Cloud Mountains are located within SNRA and there are 40 peaks over 10,000 feet. There are also hundreds of lakes that have been created by glaciers as well as the headwaters of the Salmon River.

Crawford State Park is located within Crawford County, Kansas. The park is located on a 150-acre man-made lake that was created by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).

The lake provides great opportunities for water recreation. Two boat ramps provide water access for pleasure boats. There is great fishing for catfish, striped bass and crappie. The marina provides limited food service and convenience items for boaters and campers.
