Corson's Inlet State Park is located on the Atlantic Coast in Ocean City, New Jersey. The park preserves shoreline, dune systems, estuaries and upland areas.

A highlight of the park is the 98-acre Strathmere Natural Area that protects undeveloped beachfront and dunes. The area provides nesting sites for the Least Tern, Black Skimmer and the endangered Piping Plover.

Cleburne State Park is located in Johnson County, Texas and is named for the nearby town of Cleburne. A central feature of the park is the 116-acre spring-fed Cedar Lake and the 3-mile scenic roadway surrounding it. The park was created in the mid-1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).

Indian Cave State Park is located in Southeast Nebraska near the Missouri River. The park is named for a large sandstone cavity whose walls are etched with petroglyphs.

The Missouri River provides plenty of recreation opportunities for families. Boating is popular and a boat ramp provides river access. Fishing is available on the shoreline of the river and via boat.

Big Bend Ranch State Park is the largest state park within Texas. The park protects a large portion of the Chihuahuan Desert ecosystem and has 23 miles of frontage on the Rio Grande river. Within the park is Madrid Falls, the second highest waterfall within the state of Texas. The terrain around the falls is very rugged and they are difficult to access.

Fort Harrison State Park is located in Lawrence, Indiana and is 9 miles from downtown Indianapolis. It is located at the former site of Fort Benjamin Harrison, which was opened in 1906. As a result of the end of the Cold War, the fort was decommissioned in 1991 and in 1995 over half of the land was given to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources for use as a park.

Little Buffalo State Park is located in Centre and Juniata Townships, Pennsylvania. It is named after the Little Buffalo Creek, which is a popular family destination offering fishing and other activities.

Holman Lake is another popular attraction that offers fishing for bass, catfish and panfish. There are two boat launches providing boating access to the lake. Canoes and kayaks are available for rental and boats with electric motors are permitted in the lake.

Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is located in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The 3100-acre Lake Drummond is located within the swamp and is Virginia's largest natural lake. Boating and fishing are popular activities and there is a boat launch in the Feeder Ditch providing access to the lake.

Brandywine Creek State Park is located near Wilmington, DE. The land was formerly a dairy farm and stone walls remain standing throughout the park.

There are two nature preserves within the park. The Tulip Tree Woods preserve protects a stand of 190-year-old tulip poplar trees. The Freshwater Marsh preserve protects the area marshland.

Crowley's Ridge State Park

Crowley's Ridge State Park is located in the forested hills of Northeast Arkansas. The park was built constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps on the lands of at the former homesite of Benjamin Crowley, the original settler of the area.

Water is a prominent feature of the park. A 31-acre lake provides boating (electric motors and paddle boats only) and fishing. There is also a 3 1/2 acre lake for swimming.

Lake Ouachita State Park is part of the Arkansas State Park System and is surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest. The 40,000-acre Lake Ouachita is known for it's pristine waters and excellent water sports.

Boating and fishing are both very popular in the park. A full service marina offers 70 rental slips and a boat launch. Power boats, canoes and kayaks can be rented at the marina.
