Jekyll Island is a barrier island on Georgia's coast that is located midway between Savannah and Jacksonville, Florida. The island is owned by state of Georgia and operated by the Jekyll Island Authority. Development is limited to 35 percent of the island, preserving most of it as native ecosystem.

Indian Springs State Park is located in central Georgia between the cities of Atlanta and Macon. The park is named for a series of natural springs which the Creek Indians considered as having healing properties. Several structures were constructed within the park by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), including The Spring House.

Cloudland Canyon State Park is located in Northern Georgia and is one of the largest and most scenic parks within the state. The park contains a deep gorge called the Sitton Gulch which is formed by the Sitton Gulch Creek. The gorge is more than 1000 feet deep and the park's highest elevation is 1980 feet.

Fort Mountain State Park is located in northern Georgia. Within the park is a 17-acre mountain lake and a tower constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). A 855-foot long wall at the top of mountain is believed to have been created by Native Americans.

The lake provides fishing and paddle boating. Canoes and pedal boats can be rented. Families can swim in the lake in season.

Shawnee State Park is located in Scioto County, Ohio in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The park was created during the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and is surrounded by Shawnee State Forest. Roosevelt Lake, named after Theodore Roosevelt, and Turkey Creek Lake are central features of the park and provide a range of family outdoor recreation.

For overnight stays, there are 185 campsites and 67 cottages. There are 9 picnic areas with picnic tables.

Fair Haven Beach State Park is located on the New York shoreline of Lake Ontario. It is widely considered one of the finest lakefronts in New York. The park has 1500 feet of sand beach, including a 600 foot swimming area.

The hiking in Fair Haven Beach State park is easy and ideal for families. There are 183 campsites and a 30-unit cabin colony for overnight camping.

Cayuga Lake State Park is located in Senaca Falls, NY on the western shore of Cayuga Lake. Cayuga Lake is 38.2 miles long and 3.5 miles wide, making it the Finger Lakes region's longest and largest lake. Cayuga Lake is also one of the only two Finger Lakes with an island.
